Final Reflection
Overall this blog has given me new experiences and it is useful for my learning and project. Writing learning objectives helped me a lot in focusing on what I was supposed to research on. Throughout the project, I learnt many new things.

Week 7 Reflection
Overall, throughout the week I used my research on what the digestive system consists of and their functions to help me out on my learning target this week - How food is broken down during digestion. Therefore, I had no difficulties.

How food is broken down during digestion
Food is required by humans to grow and survive, and to provide 'fuel' for the energy needed in our biological reactions.
As opposed to plants that can acquire their food from soil and sunlight, animals are required to eat foodstuffs in order to create the energy they need to survive. These foods contain many compounds and elements that are useful to our body and our daily functions.
This food is entered into the body via the mouth, where the enzymes begin to breakdown the food while it is chewed. When this food is broken down into smaller pieces it can then be swallowed, where it travels down the oesophagus towards the stomach.
The stomach then continues to break down the foodstuff. The stomach at this point is filled with a type of acid that further breaks down the food, until it is in a semi-liquid state. Note that the stomach only acts as a storage point at this stage, until the food slowly passes into the duodenum, which is part of the small intestine.

Week 6 reflection
So far I haven't encountered any difficulties in understanding the concept between on how digestion and nutrition are related.
Next week, I will be looking up on How Food is Broken Down during Digestion.

How Digestion and Nutrition are related
Nutrition involves all the processes by which the body takes in, digests, absorbs, and uses food. The digestive system then breaks down the food that is eaten into smaller particles that is usable and beneficial to us. Energy that animals and humans use to survive is provided in this manner.

Week 5 Reflection
Throughout this entire week, I learnt the various kinds of unhealthy and healthy foods and their nutritional value. I also learnt that certain foods have to be eaten in moderation and in proportion.
Overall, I did not face any difficulties during this whole week, as I understood the nutritional value of the healthy and unhealthy foods. I also learnt and understood how much to take of each food per day, and that unhealthy foods should be eaten less often for a healthier diet and body.
Next week, I will be researching on how food is broken down during digestion.
